Converting Grams into Ounces
Now that you have understood some of the basics, let’s answer the next question at hand: how many grams are there in an ounce?
This is still a bit complicated and sometimes, some mix-ups still happen. We just tackled how most of the time, marijuana is bought in eights- a measurement based on pounds.
But since we are now incorporating metric grams, things will get a bit complicated.
We already know that an eighth of an ounce is roughly equal to 3.5 grams. With that, we can solve and get the solution of 28 grams in a unit of an ounce.
This is just simple conversions, but in the industry, however, most marijuana dealers and buyers simplify the numbers and the count usually is rounded down.
For example, an eighth of cannabis is equal to 3.5 grams of cannabis, and an ounce will be rounded down to 28 grams.

Costs of Grams and Ounces
This is important knowledge because you might run into situations where you will need to know and have an idea of what a gram of cannabis is and what an eighth of it is.

How Much Are You Smoking?
Now that we are done with doing the math for transactions of marijuana sales, let us now delve into measuring your personal consumptions.
For us to analyze and get the numbers correct, we’ll take a look at the averages. A study once reported that normally, a standard joint contains 0.66 grams of cannabis.
Another study published that most joints have 0.32 grams of cannabis.
For the purpose of this guide, we will get their averages. This will lead us to an average of 0.49 grams of cannabis.
This means that you can have two quality joints out of one gram and this can be converted into seven joints per 1/8th. Finally, this translates to 56 joints out of one ounce of cannabis.
Here are the basics grams conversion:
1-gram unit = 2 joints = $5 – $15
1/8th = 3.5 weight gram = 7 joints = $30 – $50
