Last updated on

Cannabis edibles are one of the most popular application methods for medical patients as well as for adult wellness users.

This popularity explains the fact that edibles are the fastest-growing segment of the booming cannabis industry in the legal states of the US.

Even new medical cannabis markets, like Germany, has a budding edibles market.

Edibles are a convenient and long-lasting way to apply cannabis.  They are perfectly suitable for patients for example that need certain cannabinoids in their system overnight.

There is a lot more to know about edibles and you can find a great deal of information about them here on this site.

When it comes to edibles, one of the most important things to mention is dosing. Always pay close attention when taking edibles as it can take about 30 to 120 minutes for the effects kick in.

If you are consuming too much before the effect fully kicks in, you can easily overdose.

Overdosing most often results in an unpleasant experience but not much more. Having said that, it is something that is best to avoid so make sure you start off slow and you are always aware of the amount of edibles you consume.

Now, with that’s out of the way, let’s talk about how to make edibles.

Cannabinoids, the healing properties of the cannabis plant are fat-soluble and they don’t dissolve well in water.  Therefore, the best way to make edibles is to infuse your cannabis into a fatty substance that can be used for cooking.

Most common options are coconut oil and butter, however, it is up to your creativity.

Cannabutter is a very common way to add cannabis to different dishes as butter can be used in a wide variety of recipes.

Cannabis infused coconut oil is becoming more and more popular as well. Coconut oil can also be added to many dishes and it is suitable for vegetarians and vegans too.

Regardless of what method you use, the process starts with decarboxylation. Decarbing is basically heating up your cannabis to about 120 Celsius or 250 Farenheight to turn cannabinoids from their acid form to their active form.

Once your cannabis is decarboxylated, you can infuse it into butter or oil and then you can utilize that infused butter or oil in your cooking.

The traditional way of making cannabutter or cannabis-infused oils requires a fair amount of time and effort. That is where the Magic Butter Machine comes into the picture.

Introducing the Magical Butter Machine MB2

The Magical Butter machine is a revolutionary appliance that makes cannabis-infused butter, oils, and tinctures an absolute breeze.

We have recorded a video going through all the features of the Magic Butter Machine in details, please watch it below:

In its essence, the Magic Butter Machine is a smart thermo-mix.  It has a storage compartment in the bottom where you put all your butter or oil and botanicals.

The top part of the machine has a mixer blade, so you don’t have to grind up your herbs before you put them in there.

You can also see a temperature probe on the side, besides the blade. This is to ensure that the temperature in the machine is maintained accurately during the infusion process.

The top cap seals the device quite well, which helps to keep the smell inside the machine as much as possible.

So the first step is to load your butter or oil and botanicals into the machine following the instructions in the supplied Owner’s Manual.

After that, you just need to set the temperature and the duration of the infusion and the machine is good to go.

After the infusion is done, you just squeeze the butter or oil out of the botanicals that have been chopped up by the machine during the infusion.

For this process, Magic Butter supplies optional Purity Filters that have been specifically designed to filter the botanicals out.

When you are done with squeezing the oil or butter out of your botanicals using one of the filters, you can use the Magic Butter optional butter tray to pour your warm butter into. Letting them set in these trays will add a cool Magic Butter branding to your butter blocks.

If you are infusing oil, you can simply pour the infused oil into a glass bottle for storage as you can see below. It is recommended to use a funnel of some sort to get all of the oil into the bottle.
